Garbatella Lotti
Founded in 1920, Garbatella was conceived as an English-inspired "garden city" for Rome's working families — low houses with gardens, communal courtyards and greenery instead of grand boulevards. The neighbourhood is organised into numbered "lotti" (lots), each a cluster of homes built around a shared inner court, with external staircases, loggias and pergolas that give the district its warm, village intimacy.
